What is Free Nursery Education?
In addition to the places available for three and four year olds within Brent schools, free nursery education places are available in private/voluntary day nurseries and pre-school groups in Brent.
These settings provide educational activities for children aged three and four years old for five 2 ½ hour sessions and follow the same foundation stage curriculum also taught in school nurseries.

Childminders in an accredited quality assured childminding network can also register to provide free nursery education.
What does free mean?
Free part time places are for up to five 2.5-hour sessions per week, thirty-three weeks of the year (this usually divides into funding for three terms, one of 14 weeks and two of twelve weeks).
